Elevated Work Platform Training 

The Elevated Work Platform Training Course that we offer covers all of the requirements that must be met in order to earn a national High Risk Work Licence (Class WP) for elevating work platforms that are of the boom type. If you are able to successfully complete this course, you will be able to operate any boom-type elevating work platform throughout Australia. This includes self-propelled, trailer-mounted, and truck-mounted boom lifts that have a height or reach of 11 metres or more.

Course Content 

The Elevated Work Platform Training course covers a broad range of topics to enable participants to operate boom-type EWPs safely and efficiently. Key areas include:

  • Plan Operations: Hazard management and consultation.
  • Pre-operational Inspections: EWP and associated equipment.
  • Operate: Lifting to varying heights and travelling through obstacles.
  • Conclude Operations: Parking, securing the equipment, and following site-specific procedures.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for this course.
  • Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Language Proficiency: Speak and understand English at a level that allows participation in the training and assessment.
  • Identification: Able to produce 100 points or more of identification as per the SafeWork NSW identification checklist.

Certification and Outcomes Participants who complete the course will receive:

  • Nationally Recognised Units of Competency: TLILIC0005: Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)
  • A High-Risk Work Licence (class WP) will be issued through SafeWork NSW
