First Aid Training

Platinum Safety and Training offers on site training for all your first aid training requirements.

Platinum safety and training has a wide range of first aid courses to suit your workplace needs. Most courses have the option of online pre course training to prepare your staff and minimise time for the face-to-face training. All training will be delivered by industry professionals with years of REAL experience and with the right balance of theory and hands on training, giving you the confidence to deal with any first aid incident to your skill level.

The pre course study includes a short self assessment knowledge quiz. You must take the completed paper with you to the face-to-face training component.

First Aid Training

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This course provides the skills and knowledge to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. It is designed for workers in any industry that may require the skill of CPR.

There is no prerequisite to this course

Note: This unit of competency must be renewed every 12 months as per industry standards.

Course consists of both theory and practical, including theory and practical assessments.

Duration:

  • Full course: 3 hrs face-to-face
  • Full course: pre-course study + 2 hrs face-to-face
  • Refresher course: pre-course study + 1.5 hrs face-to-face

HLTAID003 Provide first aid

This unit of competency provides the skills and knowledge to provide a first aid response in a range of environments including within the community or a workplace setting.

There is no prerequisite for this course

Successful completion of this training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:

HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID003 – Provide first aid

Note: This unit of competency must be renewed every 3 years as per industry standards.

Course consists of both theory and practical, including theory and practical assessments.

Duration:

  • Full course: 8 hrs face-to-face
  • Full course: pre-course study + 5.5 hrs face-to-face

Advanced First Aid Training

HLTAID006 Provide advance first aid

This unit of competency provides skills and knowledge required to provide an advance first aid response in a variety of complex situations, including incident management and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical professionals.

There is no prerequisite for this course.

Successful completion of this training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:

HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID002 – Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID003 – Provide first aid
HLTAID006 – Provide advance first aid

Note: This unit of competency must be renewed every 3 years as per industry standards.

Course consists of both theory and practical, including theory and practical assessments.

Duration:

  • Full course: 12 hrs face-to-face
  • Full course: pre-course study + 7 hrs face-to-face

HLTAID007 Provide advance resuscitation

This unit of competency will provide skills and knowledge to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation within a range of complex situations within the community or a workplace setting. Training is within the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

There is no prerequisite for this course.

Successful completion of this training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:

HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID007 – Provide advance resuscitation

Note: This unit of competency must be renewed every 12 months as per industry standards.

Course consists of both theory and practical, including theory and practical assessments.

Duration:

  • Full course: 7 hrs face-to-face
  • Full course: CPR pre-course study + 6 hrs face-to-face
  • Refresher course: 5 hrs face-to-face
  • Refresher course: CPR pre-course study + 4 hrs face-to-face

Note: Students must supply copy of current certificate.

HLTSS00027 Occupational First Aid Skill Set

This skill set provides the workplace first aider with a higher degree of skills and knowledge to respond to first aid emergencies and manage patient care until the arrival of medical professionals, which in some cases, may be some time away due to the complex situation of your workplace. Occupational first aiders will also have the ability to manage and maintain workplace first aid rooms and equipment.

There is no prerequisite for this course.

Successful completion of this training will be awarded the statement of attainment for: HLTAID003 – Provide first aid
HLTAID006 – Provide advance first aid
HLTAID007 – Provide advance resuscitation
HLTAID008 – Manage first aid services and resources
HLTAIDSS00027 – Occupational first aid (skill set)

Note: This unit of competency must be renewed every 3 years as per industry standards.

Course consists of both theory and practical, including theory and practical assessments.

Duration:

  • Full course: 24 hrs face-to-face
  • Full course: Pre-course study + 20 hrs face-to-face
  • Refresher course: 24 hrs face-to-face
  • Refresher course: Pre-course study + 12 hrs face-to-face

Childcare First Aid Training

HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting

This unit of competency will provide the skills and knowledge to provide first aid to infants, children and adults.

The unit applies to educators and support staff working within a education and care setting who are required to respond to first aid emergencies, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency will contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylactic training under the education and care services national law, and the educational and care services National Regulation 2011.

This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of “First aid, asthma and anaphylaxis”.

There is no prerequisite for this course.

Successful completion of this training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:

HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID002 – Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID003 – Provide first aid
HLTAID004 – Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting

Note: It is recommended this unit of competency be renewed every 3 years as per industry standards.

Course consists of both theory and practical, including theory and practical assessments.

Duration:

  • Full course: 10 hrs face-to-face
  • Full course: Pre-course study + 7 hrs face-to-face

Low Voltage Rescue + CPR Training

UETTDRRF06B Preform rescue from a live LV panel + HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

The unit of competency “Preform rescue from a LV panel” covers rescue procedures from low voltage apparatus, not including overhead power lines or underground cables. It also covers legislative requirements, hazard and risk management and relevant PPE and equipment.

This additional unit “Preform cardiopulmonary resuscitation” provides the skills and knowledge to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. It is designed for workers in any industry that may require the skill of CPR.

There is no prerequisite to this course

Successful completion of this training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:

HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
UETTDRRF06B – Preform rescue from a LV panel

Note: This unit of competency must be renewed every 12 months as per industry standards.

Course consists of both theory and practical, including theory and practical assessments.

Duration:

  • Full course: 6 hrs face-to-face
  • Full course: pre-course study + 5 hrs face-to-face
  • Refresher course: pre-course study + 4 hrs face-to-face
